Christmas Fish Fry & Spades Tournament

On Friday and Saturday, December 14th and 15th, Po’Shines will host a Fish Fry Weekend with Spades and Bid Whist competitions from 12pm – 10pm in the exclusive Po’Room at Po’Shines Cafe. A good old-fashion holiday Fish Fry with good people, good food and prizes. Our first place teams will receive a $100 cash prize. The menu will include Buffalo Fish, Catfish, Cod, Spaghetti, Hush puppies, Pan Fried Potatoes & Onions, Baked Beans and much much more.

Since Po’Shines opened it’s doors in the summer of 2007, it’s mission, in addition to providing great food and service, was to give at risk youth and young adults an opportunity to get job training and experience in the culinary world.

Over the last 5 years, Po’shines has not only grown into an established Portland soul food restaurant, but has also helped many individuals on their road back to success. Po’Shines holds special events such as these to gain funds and awareness in their mission to acquire materials and equipment to create a more suited learning and training environment – in hopes to help even more individuals to find their passion in the culinary arts.

With the help of community sponsors and donations, Po’Shines looks to continue updated their facilities and launch the program in the Spring/Summer 2013.

2 New Rose Garden Arena Locations

This Trail Blazer Season it is even easier to get Po’Shined at the Rose Garden. We have 2 locations on the 100 level, and 1 location on the 300 level. We pride ourselves in being known as “not your average concession food” as well as a favorite among all the arena employees. Come by the next time your rooting on the time to get all your favorites – catfish, chicken, pork and more! Our 100 level is by entry A-18, and our 300 level is by entry C-32.

Sunday Parkway Event

Fish Fry for Kenton Street Fair

We will be having a special Fish Fry this Sunday, May 2oth from 11am – 6pm in celebration of the 3rd Annual Kenton Street Fair. Keeping things simple and delicious, the menu will featured fried catfish and fried shrimp, hush puppies, coleslaw and our homemade tartar sauce. Get your fish in a fillet, bite size pieces, or in a Po’Boy Sandwich! It’s sure to be a great time!

Poshettes, a tea, eatery and coffee shop is located at the mouth of St. Johns, and is the newest addition of the Po’Shines family. Do you remember going to grandma’s house on a Saturday afternoon, sitting in her kitchen and having a mug of something warm and a freshly baked cookie? Well that is what you’re in for on a visit to Poshettes. All the sandwiches, wraps and pastries are brought in by Po’Shines – so you know you’re in for a treat. Plus, feel free to browse the treasures of Heaven’s Archives (antique and home store), while you enjoy your afternoon.

October 15th Dinner Theater

Achaia Records, Inc. and Po’Shines Café De La Soul invite you to join us on Saturday, October 15th at 6pm for an evening of free music and great soul food.

The dinner theater is FREE for the whole family and will feature the smooth R&B Gospel sounds of E.D. Mondainé & Belief next to Portland’s favorite soul food, cooked up by Po’Shines Café De La Soul.

The event will kick off at 6pm with the bluesy contemporary Christian sounds of Rob and Company, a fantastic local artist who recently returned to Portland from an extended stay in Kansas City, MO.

E.D. Mondainé & Belief have been regular performers at these increasingly popular dinner theater events at 8131 N Denver, Ave in the Kenton District of North Portland. People have come from all around the Portland area to experience the stellar performances and succulent soul food.

Poshines Crawfish Feed

Friday, September 30 at 7:00am – October 1 at 10:00pm

We will be hosting our annual crawfish feed on Friday, September 30th and Saturday, October 1st. We will feature a variety of crawfish inspired dishes, such as crawfish etoufee, crawfish cakes, crawfish chowder and more, along with the traditional boiled crawfish feed. All proceeds from the event will go toward the launching of the official Po’Shines culinary training program for at risk youth and young adults.
